have a drink before but stay sober.
saw a flyer for this, would have loved to go, but lack of funds and all my mates going elsewhere makes it a bit tricky
nice find, 6.30 mins in raaa
dunno if i could hack much of that on a night out tho
if you havent already then check Speakerplans.com , good for sale and wanted sections on there,
hope you find what your after
im gonna find an audiophile forum and have some fun! bet some of them are well anal
i remember someone saying that they always make sure theyre speaker cable ran downwards from amp to speakers as gravity made the electron flow more efficient!
even the cheaper active monitors (not too cheap mind you) from about 200 for the pair will sound very nice with all types of music, sometimes a bit too clear and clinical with the higher end (600+) ones ive heard for just listening as theyre made to play the music as accurately and as close to the original source as possible, ie for in music production.
why are you looking to buy a new hifi or whatever??
i was more than happy with my alesis mk2’s and have recommended them on here alot before, once id got a new soundcard and found a good posistion in my room for them, you got that ‘headphone’ effect if you know what i mean where you can hear everything perfectly execpt with more bass
well hifi systems are made for quality (compared to pa which is for volume and other factors as well as quality) over volume as such, altho theyll still go loud for indoors, they also dont need to cater for 100+ people, so they dont have to use materials that can handle as much and instead go for softer more responsive ones such as woven kevlar woofers or silk dome tweeters
with hifi you only go for what you need, ie not a massive bass bin and tops that shakes you house,
you can spend loads on ‘hifi’ , you could easily spend much more than a grand on cables if you go to some places, and some people will spend huge amounts on theyre seperate hifi system because its meant to sound better ( and then put it in an acousticaly shit living room!) because someone in a shop says its better, things like ‘directional’ cable are meant to improve quality in theory but really cant make much difference at all, my mates dad for example has spent about 7000 on his system and it sounds brilliant, but no better than a pair of 600 pound genelic monitors.
monitors all the way imo, simple and very clear, hifi’s a waste of time and money and if its not going to be used outdoors or for small events then so is shoving a load of pa gear into a bedroom.
ennit, can be a mission finding good quality ones,
my mates libary of tunes ripped from youtube makes me laugh, even thru some crap 6″ active skytec speakers hes got you can hear the dismal quality and lack of depth on most of them.
what sites do you tend to use, i only really tend to use tracktdown, have used a couple of others but only for the opdd tune
really enjoyed it, hope they make another series
did get a bit darker towards the end but there were some proper comedy bits in all the episodes,
gadgets older woman and the 50cc moped gang in particular!
everything is going wrong.
everything is going wrong.
September 10, 2010 at 5:30 pm in reply to: future of vinyl records on the dance music scene? #1097262vinyl may sound better if your got spanking new needles, good decks and your records are in good nick, but pretty much all my faves have been rinsed so much that they sound shit, i swear one you can even see the grooves are bigger and ‘blunt’.
despite my earlier post about three years ago, ive now moved on to cd’s
still love vinyl but am selling all my dance records as i simply dont use them anymore, the tunes i do still play ive bought again in wavs and the ones i dont are just sat there, apart from my album collection, that i will never sell.
back to the topic tho it doesnt seem like theres been that much of a demise in vinyl, although cdjs are much more prominent in all sorts of music, as gl said on music videos, its now just as ‘cool’ to have a cdj playing the tunes, all my mates that dont play dance only buy vinyl, even with serato and traktor scratch being so easy alot of tunes arent released digitally for bassline, uk garage etc
some have that feature, not used it on other cdj’s but the ‘key correction’ function on mine are only really good for about 8% correction before you get a jittery sound, especially when its rasing the pitch on a tune thats been slowed down.
once you get to about 12% you definitely wouldnt wanna be playing out and using the effect.
i have alot of fun mixing my mates grime, garage and dubstep, but mainly cos its a break from what i usually mix, his bassline terminator remix is jokes, alwasy makes me laugh
yeah 200m isnt very much at all, unless your allowed to do it there and let the people that close know then i wouldnt bother with the hassle,
with two mid/tops and a usb sub you could hear clearly what type of music was being played from over a mile from a mates field, got complaints from all around and he was in a small marquee surrounded by trees on 2 sides and a long slope on the other.
bloody hell that place is big, picked a mate up after the gig and mk was at a standstill
heard from everyonw that went it was a wicked night
nice man,
cables are often a forgotten expense, and can be a pain in the arse, but its worth paying more now for better quality stuff then having problems and paying twice.
we had some cheap cable that used to break mid-cable if it wasnt neatly coiled, which never ever happens after a party, and the speakons used to break of very easily,
now use vandamme 4core with neutriks, never had any problems, tho they are pricey, think about £3.50 a metre for the cable,
luckily ours were ‘borrowed’ from a honda f1 function storage room when they went bust

yeah was a blinder, shame about the rigs that got taken
hiya, you have a different name now? welcome back
if you can listen to music then you already have a soundcard of some sort. as josh says it will most likely be a mother board one.
that fuzzing is either a shit cable or something making a dodgy connection or ‘looping’ back, similar to feedback from a mic.
are you using decks or cdj’s??
try telling us exactly what youve done, ie phono cable from amp out on mixer to blue line in on pc etc…..
youll get there soon mate!
very good, had my insides turned to mush by all the sick rigs at stormtek.
and now seein some safe girl ive liked for ages,

i was just gonna EQ down on the lower freq’s from my pc … or is this not advisable due to quality or something?
cant imagine it would effect quality,
suppose if you need the extra bass response then their ideal, its just a little too much rumble sometimes, specially when listening to music like bands and that.
very good for house parties tho!
